Description
Pinbot pinball, produced by Williams in 1986.
This pinball has received a full 3-stage restoration. and is in “Collectors Quality” condition.
There are photos in the gallery, and photos of the work progression can be found under “Blog”.
This pinball played a pivotal roll in 1986, as it’s credited with bringing pinball back from the edge of extinction.
Major work that HAS been done on this unit as follows:
Cabinet was stripped, and sanded down to wood. All body repairs completed, then unit was primed, and block sanded with 1000 grit.
The base coat was then applied. Once dry, each secondary color was applied. I will use a “Pinball Pimp” stencil set. Then, the finished product received 5 layers of “acrylic enamel” clear coat; which provides a wet look, and really makes the colors pop! It’s also offers fantastic protection against light scratches.
All the cabinet metal was be sandblasted, and powder coated; Gold.
The old playfield will be stripped bare, removed, and a new aftermarket CPR playfield installed.
All the electronics will be updated, and many old connectors, and capacitors changed, so the unit is reliable.
All playfield metal parts, such as posts, will be polished in a tumbler with a special medium, for over 1 week; end result, they will look new.
All mechanical solenoid components will be disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt to original specifications.
The player score displays will be changed to the new LED type, making the high voltage generating circuit obsolete, greatly improving reliability.
All #47 & #555 bulbs will be changed to color matching 2-SMD frosted, high intensity house brand. All back box bulbs will usually be cool AKA natural white. Likewise, most all playfield General Illumination (GI) will also be Cool White. Unlike Warm White, which has a red hue, cool white is pure white, and will illuminate the playfield much better.
A new upper mini playfield, and plastic set will be installed.
Basically, everything you read about under “The Restoration Process”, which is broken into 3 parts (Board Sets-Playfield-Cabinet) will be done to this pin.
Notable Features: Flippers (2), Pop bumpers (3), 5-target sinking bank (1), 3-bank drop targets (1), Kick-out holes (3). Opening skill shot sends ball up a conical ramp. Colorful playfield array of lights track progress of hitting targets. A dropping bank of 5 standup targets lowers, as a visor lifts, to reveal two kick-out holes. Upper level bagatelle mini-playfield. 2-ball multiball.
Production: 12,001 units
