On this restoration I’m working with the original playfield.
It has some major diamond coat de-lamination on the “Dracula” lightning bolt inserts, almost looks like golf divots.
Those were filed in first with a very thick molasses type clear, which brings them back to actually above level, then later on the sand back everything can be leveled; then a final clear after the heavy black boarder lines were re-inked into place.
One of the 3 round purple inserts just above the flippers was sunken, this was brought to level with the same thick clear.
There was some re-shaping / forming that was required around the right scoop; GB Weld was used, and then formed into shape with a Dremel.
There was also plywood damage behind the center 3 stand up targets, that too was repaired with GB Weld.
Due to the weight of this playfield (once loaded with assemblies), most will be added on once it’s back in the cabinet.
Starting to build out the top playfield now, will test the 3-systems at a specific point, then finish the build out.
The playfield metal has a metallic blood red finish.
Board issues were repaired prior to tear-down and restoration.
