Update on this restoration. Harness swap on underside of playfield is completed, all solenoid assemblies, switches, and lamps have been re-attached.
All solenoid assemblies were torn down, cleaned. and rebuilt.
Once underside is done, add back in the playfield side rails, then it can rest on the rails which provides depth, while you add back in all switches and targets.
Then, on the topside add the wire forms, and any metal posts. Important: If the old posts are screw in DON’T try to reuse them, whenever possible replace with newer through hole posts, and add a retaining nut on the underside. The older posts were torqued in during initial production, then again during removal, this has stressed the metal. Once you attempt to re-screw them in, 80% chance they will break, leaving the thread in the playfield, now you have a issue! The newer CPR playfields use a much harder plywood, and this fact, along with the stressed metal is a issue.
The main cabinet body is restored, and now repopulated. You can see the powder coating results; finish is called white aluminum.
Upper playfield is built out to test point, and after testing buildout will be completed.
Head is in the paint booth, and will be completed in a few days.
Sound board has been rebuilt, still working on the others.
