The cabinet received some touch up, then it was cleared with acrylic enamel. This protects it from future scuffs, and dings, as well as providing a high gloss, wet look finish.
All the solenoid assemblies have been rebuilt, but still waiting on the new 1-9 drop targets which were mailed on the May.3rd, and are still in the USA.
USA shippers please do not use these 3rd, party services, just ship with USPS!! What use to take 2-weeks, now takes 6, what was achieved? (my rant)
As usual I removed the 3-bridge rectifiers from the board and mounted them remotely, with the mount acting as a heatsink.
This will allow for quick, and easy replacement, should a future failure occur.
The clearcoated playfield received a wet 2000 grit sandback. It was then buffed to a high gloss with a 3-step Cut, Polish, & Finish process using Meguiar’s mirror glaze swirl remover.
It is now populated to system testing stage.
The metal looks brilliant, almost a perfect match to the original Stern color.
Game will be receiving new LED displays.
If any of you follow along on the restoration adventures you will notice I do not like re-using the screw in rebound posts, as the have a tendency to fatigue break off in the playfield, now you have a real issue.
