Vector Pinball – Bally 1982

$10,990.00 CAD

Description

Vector by Bally circa 1982.

The asking price is based on the pin being refurbished to “Collectors Quality” condition.

The photos in the gallery at present, show the pin in it’s current condition.

Major work that will be done on this unit as follows:

Cabinet will be stripped, and sanded down to wood. All body repairs will be completed, and as you can see, this one need major structure repair.

Then, unit will be primed, then block sanded with 1000 grit. The base coat will then be applied.

This is a basic 3-color finish, so it will be painted with automotive paint using a Pinball Pimp Stencil set.  It will then receive 3 coats of acrylic enamel clear coat.

All the metal will be sandblasted, and powder coated; I’m thinking a chrome finish, but if your ordering the pin, choose your own color.

The playfield will be stripped bare, topside and underside. all old, faded, and scratched Mylar coating will be removed. Now, as you can see this playfield requires major touch-ups; or a new playfield. A new playfield swap would add to the cost, so the price quote will be with hand painted touch-ups. To see an example of this type of work, view Absolute Pinball on Facebook, and scroll way back to the Xenon example. It can be done!

Once completed, it will receive four coats of 2-part automotive clear coat.

All the electronics will be updated, and many old connectors, and capacitors changed, so the unit is reliable.  As with all vintage Bally & Stern I will add my custom designed, remote mount bridge rectifier board next to the power supply; this allows for easy changing any of the 3 bridge rectifiers, should one fail in the future. No soldiering required!

All playfield metal posts, and such, will be polished in a tumbler with a special medium, for over 1 week, and the result is they will look new.

All mechanical components will be disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt to original specifications.

A new playfield plastic set will be installed.

The player displays will be changed out to the new LED type, eliminating the need for the power supply high voltage section; greatly increasing system reliability.

All #47 & #555 bulbs will be changed to color matching 2-SMD frosted, high intensity Comet brand. All back box bulbs will usually be cool AKA natural white. Likewise, most all playfield General Illumination (GI) will also be Cool White. Unlike Warm White, which has a red hue, cool white is pure white, and will illuminate the playfield much better.

The original lamp driver board will be changed to a new Alltek, which will allow the new LED bulbs to function without the ghosting effect.

A new sheet of tempered playfield glass will be installed.

Both existing backglasses at present rate a 9.5, and will be left as is.

Basically, everything you read about under “The Restoration Process”, which is broken into 3 parts (Board Sets-Playfield-Cabinet) will have to be done to this pin.

Features: Flippers (4), Pop bumpers (1), Slingshots (2), Kick-out holes (5), 3-bank drop targets (3), 2-ball and 3-ball multiball. Playfield digital display. Split-level playfield with four enter & exit ramps.

Production: 3,500 units
