Description
Space Station by Williams circa 1987.
The asking price is based on the pin being refurbished to “High End Player Quality” condition.
The photos in the gallery, at present, show the pin in it’s current condition.
Major work that will be done on this unit as follows:
As described in the “Restoration Process” on this site; this pin will receive two of the three steps. Those being a complete board-set, and playfield restoration
The cabinet, except for a few paint touch-ups, will be left as is. If this is the PIN FOR YOU, and you want a full Cabinet restoration, it can be done, just be aware the asking price offered here does not include such work.
All the metal will be sandblasted, and powder coated. This will include the metal ramps within the playfield, as a few have been welded. I’m thinking a light sky blue, with a micro metallic fleck, but if your ordering the pin, choose your own color.
The playfield will be stripped bare, topside and underside. The old faded, and scratched Mylar coating will be removed, and small finish touch-ups done. Once completed, it will receive four coats of 2-part automotive clear coat.
All the electronics will be updated, and many old connectors, and capacitors changed, so the unit is reliable. As pictured, there is a lot of hack wiring, and soldering on both the boards sets, and the playfield wiring harness. This will all be remedied.
All playfield metal posts, and such, will be polished in a tumbler with a special medium, for over 1 week, and the result is they will look new.
All mechanical components will be disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt to original specifications.
A new main playfield black plastic ramp will be installed.
The player score displays will be changed out to the new LED type, eliminating the need for the power supply high voltage section; greatly increasing system reliability.
All #47 & #555 bulbs will be changed to color matching 2-SMD frosted, high intensity “Absolute” brand. All back box bulbs will usually be cool AKA natural white. Likewise, most all playfield General Illumination (GI) will also be Cool White. Unlike Warm White, which has a red hue, cool white is pure white, and will illuminate the playfield much better.
The existing translite, will be cleaned, the minor damage pictured, will be repaired.
Notable Features: Flippers (2), Pop bumpers (3), Slingshots (2), Standup targets (15), Vertical up-kickers (2), 3-bank drop targets (1), Left outlane kickback, Mini-playfield. 3-ball multiball, Speech. Bonus Ball awarded after last ball to all qualifying players. A single drop target guards ramp, a single standup target is nearby. Double GI – General Lighting changes from white to green during multiball. EXAMINE THE PHOTOS, as there are No flipper inlanes, which is very unique.
Toys: Turning Space Station model.
Production: 3,804 units.
